This movie gave me a more favorable impression of Lincoln. Although the South fired the first shot, Lincoln seemed unwilling to make peace, but instead chose a horrific war that killed over 600,000 people.
Slavery is a terrible thing, but so is war.
Lincoln once wrote: "People think that I have controlled events, but in fact, events have controlled me."
I give the move an 'A-' for entertainment value, but an 'A' for its historical significance.
